Episode #12: Victor Yocco

David was fortunate today to sit down and have a great conversation with author and UX researcher Victor Yocco. With Victor he discusses how UX research fits into the workflow, what it takes to create a really good experience, and how user psychology comes into play in design.

Victor also covers this in his brand new book Design For the Mind, where he definitely gives some gems in this conversation that shine a new light on user psychology and UX research. Along with this Victor shares his advice for those seeking to become UX researchers and how to incorporate research into your startup budget.

About The Hacking UI Podcast

The Hacking UI podcast is hosted by Sagi Shrieber and David Tintner, a designer and developer who are also both entrepreneurs, bloggers, productivity/time-hacking maniacs, and all around tech geeks.

We started this podcast off with the ‘Scaling a Design Team series’ where we talked with design leaders from top notch companies like Facebook, Apple, Invision, and Intercom, to discuss team structures, responsibilities, and workflows.

Now, that we quit our day jobs to work on Hacking UI full time, we will also bring guests on the show that are creative entrepreneurs that we admire to share their experience and workflows.
